How Much Do Dental Implants Cost?
Different factors will determine the answer to the question of how much dental implants cost. Some factors include the type of surgeon you decide to work with, any additional procedures such as bone grafting, and the type of dental implant used. The amount you spend on a dental implant procedure also depends on how many teeth you are having restored.

At ZenTech Dentistry, we are well-equipped with the latest materials and use state-of-the-art equipment and dental technology to ensure our patients undergo an effective, successful, and affordable dental implant procedure. Our dentists are highly experienced, as they have handled several dental implant procedures and helped several patients reverse the damage caused by tooth loss, decay, and missing teeth. If you need a highly experienced dentist, you are at the right place!

Dental Implants

Dental implants are mainly made of three different parts. There is the custom dental crown, biocompatible implant post, and an abutment that helps in connecting the two pieces. Dental implants are inserted into the jawbone using a surgical procedure by our experienced dentists. The implant replaces the root of the tooth and the tooth itself, mimicking both the natural tooth appearance and its functions.

There are different types of dental implants. The most common ones are:

Endosteal Dental Implant

Titanium is a common material used in endosteal dental implants. Our experienced dentists will surgically insert it into the jawbone offering stability for dental crowns. Since titanium is biocompatible, it cannot be rejected by the body. The metal post will fuse well with the jawbone as it heals.

Subperiosteal Dental Implant

Although subperiosteal dental implants are not very popular, they are an excellent method for patients with insufficient bone mass where the subperiosteal implant will be anchored. Subperiosteal implants are usually placed beneath or below the gum tissues but are always above the jawbone.

Dental Implant Placement

The dental implant placement procedure will take 30 to 60 minutes for a single implant, while multiple implants will take two to three hours. The number of appointments you will need will also vary from one patient to another.

Dental implant placement refers to the first procedure of getting a new restoration. It entails making an incision in the jawbone where the implant post will be inserted. An implant post refers to a small screw made from titanium or other biocompatible materials to act as the tooth root.

Dental Implant Procedure

A dental implant procedure is a series of techniques a dentist uses to replace the missing, decayed, or damaged tooth root with an artificial one. Here are the steps involved in dental implant procedures:

Preparation

Our dentist will first examine the condition of your teeth to determine if a dental implant is necessary. A thorough examination of the sinuses, nerves, and bones will be conducted. An x-ray will also be performed to help detect any underlying issues like gum disease or tooth decay.

Placing the Implant

If necessary, a dental implant procedure will be performed. Local anesthesia will first be administered to help prevent the patient from experiencing pain. Patients anxious about the operation will have sedative medication administered to ensure the procedure goes smoothly.

Our surgeon will make an incision into the gums to expose the bone before drilling a hole where the titanium screw will be positioned. A metal post will, after that, be screwed into place. The nearby gum tissues will be sutured to help cover the dental implant to prevent the lodging of food particles into the gum.
It will take close to six months for the patient to heal. During this period, the implant will attach to the bone in a process called osseointegration.

Abutment Installation

When the dental implant integration is complete, the abutment will be installed. It helps in connecting the implant crown or the replacement tooth to the implant.

Minor surgery to help open up the gum will be needed. It is where the abutment will be placed. A local anesthetic will help prevent the patient from experiencing pain. When the abutment is in place, the gum tissue will be closed but not covering it.

Crown Fitting

Our dental surgeon will help shape the replacement tooth to ensure it fits well onto the existing structure. After the swelling has reduced, you will have another appointment with our experts to fit the crown. Our dental experts will take impressions of your mouth to help them create artificial teeth that will be placed onto the abutment.

Recovering From the Surgery

It will take the patient some time to recover from the dental implant procedure. It is common for them to experience some discomfort and mild pain. Sometimes, they experience swollen gums and pain around the dental implant. There are times when there might be slight bleeding or gum bruising. All of these will go away after some time.

Am I A Candidate for Dental Implants

Do you have a missing tooth, or are you missing multiple teeth? Are you tired of partials, dentures, or bridges? Then there is a high chance you are a candidate for dental implants.

Any dental implant procedure candidate should have good oral health with healthy gum tissues. Sufficient bone density will also be necessary to help in supporting the implant. When you suffer from bone loss that does not mean you are not a candidate for a dental implant. You can always undergo bone reconstruction and diagnostics, such as bone grafting, to ensure the dental implant procedure is successful. People who have diabetes or leukemia, chronic conditions, or those using tobacco should not undergo a dental implant procedure, as their body will likely not be able to heal properly.
