Do You Really Get Benefits When You Have a Clean Mouth?Chances are you've probably been learning about the benefits of good oral hygiene since childhood. Brushing and flossing should be a part of our daily routine, but why is that?

Benefits of Good Oral Hygiene

Good oral hygiene affords you favorable breath, a confident smile, and a great plan to combat a myriad of other issues. Dental issues alone are not as bad when we choose to heed the advice of our parents and brush and floss. When you practice good oral hygiene, you reduce the chance of tooth decay and tooth sensitivity. You also reduce the chance of root canals and other oral surgery.

In addition, inflammation in the gums has been linked to other conditions like diabetes, stroke, autoimmune diseases, heart disease, and cancer. Good oral hygiene can benefit your entire body.

What Does Good Oral Hygiene Look Like?

We recommend brushing your teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste. Use a soft bristled toothbrush and gently brush for two minutes during each brushing session. Don't forget to brush your tongue! Floss at least once a day. Lastly, drink water between meals.

Choose to do your oral routine even when you don't feel like it. Practice this daily routine and it will become second nature to you. Your teeth and your bank account will thank you for it!
