How We Minimize Dental Trauma
Since the majority of dental trauma accidents occur unexpectedly, it is important to know what to do when they happen. Having a plan is important so you know to call us and can do so quickly. We have a plan too. We want to manage your trauma well by providing first aid, examining your dental trauma, and treating your issue. Our goal is to see you fully recover.
If you or someone you know has ever experienced dental trauma, you would understand the importance of reducing pain and controlling anxiety after the trauma occurs. We have several ways to do that. We use topical anesthetics to numb the area in your mouth or gums where the dental work will be done. Nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, helps patients to feel relaxed. This sedative is safe, and the effects wear off quickly after the gas is turned off. We also have other sedatives and anesthesia available to help mitigate the trauma.
