Rising in popularity as a cosmetic treatment option, dental veneers give the patient a chance to conceal simple dental flaws and achieve a brighter and sharper smile. Veneers can transform your smile without the need for multiple invasive treatments. As much as dental veneers are highly resilient, that does not make the indestructible. However, with proper care and maintenance, dental veneers can last you for up to a decade. Nevertheless, oral problems, injuries and other factors could lead to the replacement of your veneers. Over years, the dental cement used to hold the veneer in place can become weak causing the veneers to loosen. Brushing your teeth and gums at least twice a day plus flossing can constitute to good oral hygiene. If you decide to use the wrong oral care tools, there is also a likelihood that you will damage your veneers. A non-abrasive toothpaste and a soft-bristle toothbrush is the best way to go. If you grind your teeth avidly, there is a chance that you will induce wear and tear on your veneers. This will end up destroying their lifespan.
